Soldiers flood Volta Region Ahead of Voter Registration Exercise
View pictures in App save up to 80% data. The Volta Region in some few past days has witnessed a heavy presence of military men in the region.
The situation has sent fears down to the spine of residents since the reason for this heavy military presence are unknown.
The minority through Hon. James Agalga is of the opinion that this move is intended to intimidate the residents of the region from coming out in their numbers to register for the voter ID card scheduled to take place in the 30th of June 2020.
There has been fears among the minority NDC that the ruling party together with the electoral commission seek to disenfranchise members of the National Democratic Congress from registering in other to pave way for the ruling party to have a smooth victory in the coming December 2020 election.
The minority is therefore calling on the government as a matter urgency to withdraw the army from the region.
Checks from ministry of defence show that, the army is there to ensure that people do not take unapproved root to enter the country in other to curtail the already surging covid-19 infections in the country.
