On the Thursday 24th day of June 2020, the Supreme Court Orders the Electoral Commission to go on with it mandate of compiling a new voters register.
After weeks of hearing, the Supreme Court has now given the EC the go ahead to do the new voters register for the upcoming general elections.
After the rulings from the judges both parties were in confused as who exactly won the case. This is because the Supreme Court held the Electoral Commission's interest of compiling a new voters register in a firm position.
But news reaching us also indicated that the general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Aseidu Nketia pointed out that the Supreme Court has agreed to their second concern of allowing the old voters ID card to be part of the requirements for the registration exercise.
Those who filled the court room today were in total shock because of the rulings from the Supreme Court judges. Indeed it was a great ruling because both parties are in jubilation.
