  • In 2007, approximately 13 years ago,an earthquake, 5.9 magnitude with 33 km depth occurred in Takoradi.
  • In 1997, about 23 years ago, earthquake, 4.4 magnitude with 10 km depth took place in Gbawe, Greater Accra.
  • In 1990, which is 30 years ago,an earthquake, 3.1 magnitude with 10 km depth happened in Gbawe, Greater Accra.
  • In 1989, that's 31years ago,an earthquake, 2.0 magnitude with 10 km depth occurred in Kasoa, ----.
  • 32 years ago,an earthquake, 3.5 magnitude with 10 km depth occurred in Kasoa.
  • In 1987,about 33 years ago,an earthquake, 3.1 magnitude with 10 km depth occurred in Kasoa,----.
  • Also,33 years ago,an earthquake, 2.6 magnitude with 10 km depth occurred in Gbawe, Greater Accra.
  • In 1939, approximately 81 years ago,an earthquake, 6.4 magnitude with 15 km depth occurred in Swedru,----.

Researchers said most of the earthquakes in Ghana occur in the western part of the country at the junction of the two major fault systems, the Coastal boundary fault and the Akwapim fault, so the most earthquake prone zones are in the areas in south of Weija. Earthquake prone zones are the areas that experience eartearthquakes the most.
