Ashanti Region Records 4 New Deaths As Coronavirus Death Toll Crosses 100

Ashanti Region has recorded four (4) new deaths out of the total eight (8) COVID-19 deaths that has pushed Ghana’s death toll to 103.

The new deaths involve persons between the ages 24 and 80.

Among the 8 new deaths were the two young women aged 24 and 36 who had no underlying conditions.

The other deaths had diabetes, liver disease, heart conditions and hypertension as underlying conditions.

According to the latest update by the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the total case count has now risen to 15,834 after 361 new cases.

Meanwhile, a total of 324 persons have also recovered from the disease raising the recoveries count to 11,755.

The active cases of the country as well currently stands at 3976 cases. These persons are receiving treatment in health facilities across the country or are in home care/management.

The United States has also recorded an all-time daily high of 40,000 coronavirus infections today according to figures from Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
