Today, June 29, 2020 through a press statement released and signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr. Eugene Arhin directing Mr. Domelevo Daniel Yaw to proceed on his accumulated annual leave of one hundred and twenty-three (123) working days come Wednesday July 1, 2020.

The president in the Press statement made it know that Mr.Dumelevo Daniel Yaw since his appointment as the Auditor General of Ghana on December 30, 2016 has only taken nine (9)working days of his accumulated annual leave of one hundred and thirty-two (132) working days.

The National Democratic Congress Party (NDC) took to their official twitter page to react to the news of government directing the Auditor General to proceed on his annual leave. It seems the directive from the President did not go well with the NDC fratenity.

This is what the NDC had to say in reacting to the news as they believe the Auditor General who was appointed by the John Mahama led Administration is on his way of being sacked and not to be able to probe into the expenditure of the money allocated for the Coronavirus Alleviation Programme.

"Not long ago, we petitioned the Auditor-General to carry out a special audit into the expenditure of GHC280.3 million allocated for Coronavirus Alleviation Programme. Government urged him to disregard our petition. Today, President Akufo-Addo fired the Auditor-General https://t.co/3Sd5HiTV33"
