In a in a unanimous decision ruled that the Electoral Commission has the power to compile a new register and as such threw out the relief being sough by a private citizen Mark Takyi-Banson. What is not clear is the ruling on the relief being sought by the NDC. In a viral video, the General Secretary of the party, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia is heard proclaiming the party's vindication by the court.

However, other media reports suggests that the parties are still not clear on the courts ruling on the NDC's relief and are currently waiting to have a summary of the ruling to clear their doubts. What we know is that the court directed the EC to go ahead with the registration of voters in accordance with CI 126 which excludes the old voter ID.

In summary, it is clear that without any further incidents the EC has the full backing of the law to conduct the mass registration exercise. What we are yet to establish now is whether the court ordered an inclusion of the current voter ID. If it turns out the court ordered an inclusion, then we do not see any further legals actions which will prevent the EC from proceeding with the exercise but if otherwise, then the NDC will most likely seek judicial review within the next 30 days.
