In recent times, the United States of America have been criticized for their racism flaws. Experts say the problem started long ago and has gotten better now. During that period there were some black actors who greased the screens of Hollywood and are very liked by the American people. I will use this opportunity to discuss a few of them.

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman was born to Mayme Edna and Morgan Porterfield in the year June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee. His mother was a teacher who died in the year 2000 while his father was a barber who died of cirrhosis in the year 1961.

Freeman made his acting debut at age nine, playing the lead role in a school play and he later attended Broad Street High School, an in Greenwood, Mississippi. Even at a younger age, he won an award as he was the winner in a statewide drama competition while he was just 12. He got the chance to even perform in a radio show based in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from Broad Street in 1995, he turned down a partial drama scholarship from Jackson State University, with the intention of getting into in the United States Air Force and served as an Automatic Tracking Radar Repairman, rising to the rank of Airman 1st Class. In the early 1960s, he took acting lessons at the Pasadena Playhouse and dancing lessons in San Francisco


Acting career

After taking the dancing lessons in the early 1960s, Freeman worked as a dancer at the 1964 World's Fair and was a member of the Opera Ring musical theatre group in San Francisco. He acted in a touring company version of The Royal Hunt of the Sun and also appeared also in the 1965 film The Pawnbroker. However, Freeman made his Off-Broadway debut in 1967, opposite Viveca Lindfors in The Nigger Lovers, before debuting on Broadway in 1968's all-black version of Hello, Dolly! which also starred Pearl Bailey and Cab Calloway.


In 2011, to raise money for the American Foundation for Equal Rights Freeman was featured with John Lithgow in the Broadway debut of Dustin Lance Black's play, 8, a staged reenactment of Perry v. Brown, the federal trial that overturned California's Proposition 8 ban on same-sex marriage. In 2013, Freeman appeared in the action-thriller Olympus Has Fallen, the comedy Last Vegas and the science fiction drama Oblivion. In 2014, he starred in the action film Lucy were he acted as the professor. In 2015. He also appeared in London Has Fallen, the 2016 sequel of Olympus Has Fallen. In 2019 he acted as the president in the movie Angel has Fallen which was also a sequel to London has fallen. Personally, in his movies I enjoyed watching was Now you see me.

Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel Leroy Jackson born December 21, 1948, is an American actor and producer who is widely regarded as one of the most popular actors of his generation, the films in which he has appeared have collectively grossed over $27 billion worldwide, making him the highest-grossing actor of all time. His movies include, Together for Days. Mother and Child, Soul Men among others. The movies that most would like to watch over and over again is the featuring in the avengers series acting as Nick Fury.


Denzel Washington

Denzel Hayes Washington Jr. (born December 28, 1954) is an American actor, director, and producer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of his generation and is considered an American cultural icon. He has featured in both comedy and action movies. One of his achievements was receiving two Golden Globe awards, one Tony Award, and two Academy AwardsBest Supporting Actor for the historical war drama film Glory (1989) and Best Actor for his role as corrupt detective Alonzo Harris in the crime thriller Training Day (2001).

Will Smith

Willard Carroll Smith Jr. was born September 25, 1968, is an American actor and rapper. In the late 1980s, Smith achieved modest fame as a rapper under the name The Fresh Prince. His greatest achievement being nominated for five Golden Globe Awards and two Academy Awards, and has won four Grammy Awards. In view of this in the year 2017, Newsweek called him "the most powerful actor in Hollywood" and he deserves that.

Some of his movies he featured include Focus, Bright among others. His feature in the movie Aladdin made his fans happy.

Eddie Murphy

Edward Regan Murphy was born on April 3, 1961. He is a renowned American actor, comedian, and singer. Murphy was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984.

Some of his movies he featured include meeting Dave, Daddy’s daycare among others. I personally enjoyed the movie series, Dr Do little where he could talk to animals was very interesting
