View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Gregory Bortey Promise Newman is a well talented Ghanaian artiste, now popularly known worldwide as "King Promise". He was born on 16th August 1995; born and brought up by Mrs Angela Quaye and Mr Francis Newman in Greater Accra (Nungua to be precise).
He is yet to be 25 this year in August. His father, Mr Francis Newman was a businessman, while his mother, Mr Angela Quaye, was a trader. According to him, he always showed the desire to become a musician, and his father supported his son's vision which has yielded positive results.
Talking about Gregory's education, he attended "De Kings Academy". He completed his basic education and Junior High School education also there. He later got admission at the Nungua Senior High School. His career had quite a bright start, and in 2016, he released a very much anticipated album dubbed 'Thank God', which featured the Azonto hitmaker, Fuse ODG, and produced by Killbeatz. The genres of music King Promise takes interest in are "R&B, Hip Hop, Highlife and Afrobeats". Four years on, King Promise has always been in the country's top ten billboard. He is certainly cementing his presence in the Ghana Music Industry as a legacy.
Gregory Bortey has also had the opportunity to collaborate with big artistes, both in and out of the country such as Fuse ODG, Pappy Kojo, Scientific, Darkovibez, Joey B, Wizkid, Adina and even Sarkodie on numerous times. King Promise I currently signed to the Killbeatz Record Label.
