The Kumasi central market, also known as the Kejetia market, is located in the Ashanti region of Ghana, Kumasi.

It is known as the single largest market in West Africa.

As an open-air market, it receives approximately 5000 buyers and sellers daily. For a newbie in the area, you might get lost due to the gargantuan nature of the crowded enclave of the market.

On Monday, December 25th 2016, former president Mahama commissioned a new edifice around the area.

The project was pegged at US$ 289 million. It comprises a parking lot, modern bus terminal, fire station, clinic, police station, modern sewerage facilities, etc.

It was also built to serve other neighbouring indigenes around Kumasi.

However, the nature of this monumental edifice is what will make you mistake for an airport. See pictures below;

These projects are among the few for which many Ghanaians are calling back the former President into office coming December elections.
