Female empowerment has gain grounds in the global world and has come to stay as most females are been being educated and trained to take leadership positions that were held by males over the years. The empowerment of females has yield positive results as most females are making impact on people with the knowledge and skills they have attained in the modern world. This has motivated a lot of females especially young females to aim high and achieve more in life.

The perception that the woman place to dwell is only in the kitchen is being changed in our society due to higher positions occupied by most females in Ghana and around the world. It is not surprising to see females occupying big positions in big companies in the country who are excelling as the men do. This serve as motivation to a lot of people. Often times most people want to know higher positions that some females occupy in other to motivate them in life and change their perception that females cannot attain higher positions or aim high in life.

These are some females who are serving as chancellor's and vice chancellors in Tertiary Institution in Ghana. Whiles others are still holding such positions others have served and handed over to different people but their good works are still appreciated since they made great impact during their term of office and are still recommended by their good works.

Prof.(Mrs) Smile Dzisi is the Vice Chancellor of Koforidua Technical University. She is Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She has been in Academic over 20 years. This makes her more experience in her field of work. She has held several management position at Koforidua Technical University before becoming the Vice Chancellor. She was the first female to be appointed Rector of a Polytechnic in Ghana and with her hardwork and determination, she led the transformation of Koforidua Technical Polytechnic into Koforidua Technical University where she now serve as a Vice Chancellor.

She motivates a lot of people especially to be determined in achieving their goals and also serve as a role model to most young ladies due to how she is able to multitask.

Mrs. Mary Chinery-Hesse is the Chancellor of University of Ghana. She was the former Chief Advisor of President Kufuor and her industrious nature and hardwork made her to be recognised and appointed as first female Chancellor for University of Ghana in 2018 by his excellency Nana Akuffo Addo. Her passion for her work stands out as she serves as role model to many people due to how she critically analyse issues. She took over from Kofi Annan and serve as 10th Chancellor of the University. She was the first female Deputy Director-General for International Labour (ILO) in Geneva,1989-2000.

She motivates people with her numerous positions especially she serve as role model to young ladies due to her developmental initiative that is being noticed in the University. She is highly appreciated and applauded for her good works.

Prof.Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang was former Vice Chancellor for University of Cape Coast ( UCC). She was the first female Vice Chancellor of state University in Ghana. She was the Former Minister of Education under President Mahama government and she worked very hard to ensure the progressiveness and development of the education system in Ghana.

Her good works is highly applauded and recommendable by her successors. She serve as a role model due to the impact she made during her term of office as Education Minister and also as Former Vice Chancellor of UCC. She is currently President of the Forum for African women Educationalist and Chairperson of the Africa Board. As educationist her contribution in nation building is very paramount to her as she demonstrate intelligence when given any opportunity.

Prof. (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson is the female appointed Vice Chancellor for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology ( KNUST). She served various positions before being appointed as Vice Chancellor. She served as the Pro-Vice Chancellor for the institution and due to her hardwork and industrious nature she made a lot of transformation and impact in the institution. She acted as the Vice Chancellor in 2018 when the then Vice Chancellor Prof. Obiri Danso was asked to step aside temporarily, after weeks of protests and violence by on the campus.

She is a Board member of the Pharmacy Council and Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana. She is an associate professor in the institution. She obtained M.pharm ( Pharmacognosy) in 1999. Her passion for work stands out as she demonstrate intelligence and dedication in her career. She serves as a role model to many people as a pharmacist and a associate professor. She will resume her office as first female Vice Chancellor for KNUST on 1st August, 2020 since she was appointed as Vice Chancellor on June 25, 2020.
