The Islamic state in West Africa, or the Islamic State West African Province ( abbreviated ISWA and ISWAP respectively), formerly known as Jama'at Ahl as-Synnah lid-Da'awah wa'l-Juhad. Meaning, " Group of the people of Sunnah for preaching and jihad", is commonly known as Boko Haram, a jihadist terrorist organisation in northeastern Nigeria, also active I chad, Nigerians northern Cameroon.

The organization was founded by Mohammed Yusuf in 2002, the group has been led by Abubakar Shekau since 2009. When Boko Haram first formed, their actions were nonviolent. Their main goal was to

purify Islam in northern Nigeria . Since March 2015, the group has been aligned with the

Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant . [17][18] Since the current insurgency started in 2009 , Boko Haram has killed tens of thousands and displaced 2.3 million from their homes[19] and was at one time the world's deadliest terrorist organisation globally.

The organization have been terrorising Nigeria recently, which have led to lost of thousands of lives, destruction of infrastructures, schools shutdown, and the economy of the country affected. In spite of all these, some of the terrorist ( Boko Haram ) members have come out to confess of their evil deeds, seeking for forgiveness while others who were caught, claim to have repented.

The Nigeria government few years ago, announced that, it has released about 1,400 Boko Haram members. The reason given was they have repented and were to be re- integrated into society. The government said, the release, which happened in three tranches, were part of its four year old de- radicalization programme called Operation Safe Corridor.

The announcement generated a lot of reactions in the country, with opposition leaders attacking the decision and so also many Nigerians, as did soldiers fighting the terrorist.

Meanwhile, Nigeria is still battling with insurgencies in different parts of the country, the government still claim, they are almost there( clearing the terrorist organisation, Boko Haram).

the Bokom Haram groups has disturbed Nigeria is neither here or there. all the federal government of Nigerians must have a strong securities , and good intelligents psychology ,with good policy doing this and Nigeria will be free and peaceful country from Odeshie Nana Abrompa the living saint.
