Fire outbreak often occur many times mistakenly when we are in the kitchen and if suddenly things just gets out of control with your gas cylinder and you start to noticing some abnormal flame outbreak coming from the gas burner, that means a danger coming to your home.

It is just a sign that the cylinder is about to catch fire, and can lead to a deadly gas explosion which can kills people in seconds, so many people who are ignorant if they find them self in this situation, tend to pour water on the fire.

Certainly , water quenches fire, and not a bad idea to use water on fire, but it's a wrong to just pour water on a gas cylinder that is on fire , its just a wrong idea to pour water on a burning gas cylinder just in case you don't know, there are different type of fire outbreaks and each has a different way of putting it off.

This type of outbreak includes our regular fire which happens with woods, plastics and other solid objects and water is the best solution for it to put it off immediately.

This is our main discussion here because it involves the type of combustible object which are liquids and gases type and the application of water is definitely a very bad idea to apply to this type of fire, remember we also have class C, class D and class K types of fire outbreak , since water is not good to stop this type of fire outbreak , then what can one do to manage the fire outbreak situation?

First of all, try and calm down your anxiety and fear, don't be in a fearful mode and never panic too much, that's the first and most important step to managing it.

Then you need to take a large blanket and soak it in a bucket of water, allow the cloth be soaked properly, then use the wet blanket to cover the source of the fire and make sure to spread the wet blanket over the area where the fire is burning from, later then turn off the cylinder and move away from the area for a while.

NOTE: Don't ever try to pour water directly on a burning fire as this will cause more fire spread and can lead to a larger fire disaster and burn the whole house. One of the biggest challenge of doing this is fear, which can make you do the wrong thing and once fear grips your body in the course of this fire incidence in a gas cylinder and you did not apply this knowledge , but instead you applied water on it, can lead to gas explosion.
