NPP Reacts As Asante Queen Mother Blesses Running Mates In Different Kente Clothes

View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Kente known as "Nwentom" in Akan, is a type of silk and cotton fabric made of interwoven clothe strips and is native to the Akan ethnic group of South Ghana. Kente comes from the Akan word Kenten, which means basket in Akan dialect Asante. Akans refer to kente as "nwentoma",meaning woven cloth.

It comes in different colours and designs. The brilliant colours and intricate designs associated with kente have definitely made this fabric the best known to all Ghanaians or Africans, as each design has a story with a proverbial meaning, giving each cloth it's Unique distinction.

To this end, Ghanaians have reacted to the Queen Mother of the Asante Kingdom, as she wore different colours of kente to blessed the vice presidential candidates of the major two Political parties in Ghana. When they paid courtesy call on her to seek her blessings in their bid to have their parties voted into power come December 7 polls. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

Let's look at the two main colours the queen mother wore that got the attention of Ghanaians, on a different occasion, she was in a white kente and in black on another occasion.

Meaning of black Kente: Black stands for aging because in nature things get darker as they get older. Colour of bereavement. Black also stands for strong spiritual energy, and the spirits of the ancestors. Also signifies mystery and secrecy and mostly used in initiation and purification ceremonies.

Meaning of white kente: White derives it's symbolism from the white part of the egg and from white clay, which symbolises innocence, peace and healing and is used in spiritual purification, sanctification rites and festive occasions. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

While the Queen mother wore white and black kentes to blessed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party and Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang of the National Democratic Congress respectively, Ghanaians especially Supporters of the New Patriotic Party believe that the queen mother means good and that victory will befall on the NPP while the black depicts bad omen for the NDC.

"The Queen mother of the Asante Kingdom blessed Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang with black cloth that signifies bad omen and blessed Dr. Bawumia wearing white cloth that signifies victory", they indicated.

She ignited or initiated Prof Naana into the battle field in order to wrestle power from Dr. Bawumia. It is initiation into power. She has been empowered by the Queen mother.

Asante's are not Descriminative, the cloth our sweet Queen Mother was wearing depends on the occasion when they visited our mother.In Ashanti's every occasion or ceremony have it Cloth to be wear.So don't politicize it that She wear White for NPP and black for NDC never.

it's obvious she doesn't respect, see how Bawumia kneed to that of Jane's squat. white for Bawumia ...victory. Black for Jane... sorrows.
